Same Traffic, More Money

When working with CPA offers, here’s a simple way to get a much higher ROI with the same traffic.

 

The Old Way

Most people will just advertise an offer using PPC, PPV, banners etc and either link directly to that offer or build a simple landing page to presell the product or offer. This is ok for testing offers and will make money when you find a winning combination, but it’s not the way to kill it with CPA offers. You don’t have any way to follow-up with visitors, you only get paid once (either they buy the offer or they leave), you can’t cross or upsell them other offers, your ROI will typically be too low and you will mostly lose more money than you make unless you find a killer offer and awesome traffic.

Cloaking your affiliate link means hiding your ugly affiliate URL from your visitors. So instead of “http://affiliateidhere.vendor.hop.clickbank.net” they will see “www.yourdomain.com/recommends/product” which is a much neater link.

Link cloaking is important not only because it improves the amount of times your links get clicked (many people are sceptical of weird links) but it also helps prevent lost commissions from people just taking your link and deleting the affiliate bit off the end so they just go direct to the website.

Of course, savvy users will still know it’s an affiliate link but it isn’t as obvious and in my experience it does increase conversions.

PPV works through Adware software that people have installed on their computers e.g. free game downloads, toolbars, emoticons, screensaves etc but it IS NOT spyware. Users have agreed to install the software on their computer and they can remove it at any time. The adware is designed to show ads based on what websites the user is viewing in exchange for using the free software.
